Be careful not to mistaken the Social Justice Movement and Socialism that is gaining steam as being Christian.
This movement, I believe, is a form of counterfeit that is not lifting the name of Jesus high. It is a movement that loves to call for protests and resistance while embracing all kinds of sexual immorality and corruption. It is a movement that loves to hold the peace sign while hurling insults at their enemies. It is a movement that does not proclaim Jesus as being the way and the truth but a way and a truth (John 14:6).
When God called for His Tabernacle to be built, He was looking for people within the nation of Israel who were being stirred to give to take part. He continued to call for people, who were being stirred to do the work, to step forward. The Father was not looking to make all the people give and all the people work on the tabernacle but those who were being stirred to do so. (Exodus 35-36) He was after a freewill offering.
God does not demand and force the rich to give to the poor. Nor does He overlook the poor and side with the rich. The Church is the body of Christ and is to reflect the Father's heart to the world.
What makes God's love so incredible is that He gives us free will to choose whether we will be a generous and kind people or we choose to be greedy and sef-serving. To confess Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord is to become a generous and kind people.
Socialism has the appearance of something good because it seeks to help out the little man or the person in need or being overlooked. However, underneath the veils of this ideology is that which forces a people to submit to the few who come to power. Be careful! Just because something sounds good for all the people can be something that actually will place all the people in a great bondage whereby Taskmasters are put in charge to enforce laws that are wicked, immoral and unmerciful.
The Church of Jesus Christ isn't a socialist institution and never was meant to be. I am hearing of more and more church leaders that are embracing socialism and this social justice movement. Be careful lest we be deceived and our love grows cold. Political ideologies are not the answer for our nation but hearts that are changed by the power of God through Jesus Christ.
