Luke 10:41 But the Lord answered her, "Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things, but one things is necessary. Mary has chosen the good portion, which will not be taken away from her."
This correction from Jesus to Martha came on the heels of Martha complaining to Jesus about her sister not helping but sitting at the feet of Jesus.
The issue wasn't that Martha shouldn't have been in the kitchen preparing the meal but that her eyes shifted from serving Jesus with joy to grumbling about Mary, who she thought should have been serving with her.
How easy it is to run to Jesus to grumble about someone who we think should be serving the way we serve? If we have a grumbling heart there is a good chance that we have taken our eyes off of Jesus. It may be time to go to Jesus and sit at His feet and listen instead of go to Him and complain about another.
There is always transformation that comes to the follower of Jesus who spends time sitting at His feet intent to hear the Shephard of our soul speak into us life and peace.
