Psalm 25:4 Make me to know your ways, O LORD; teach me your paths. 5 Lead me in your truth and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation; for you I wait all the day long.
Why is it so difficult to wait on the Lord?
Outside of Sunday morning worship, are we a people praying prayers like David where we desire to know His ways and long to be taught His truth? Are we opening God's word daily to discover God's heart and desire for us?
When we are praying that the Lord leads us in His truth, He will show us areas in our life where there is error. He will judge our thoughts and motivations behind what we are saying and even doing. We like our opinions on matters of career, finances, friendships, marriage, raising of children and politics and even church. Do our opinions on these matters give way to the Lord and His truth where what He says replaces what we think?
Could it be that we don't like to wait on the Lord because we don't want the Lord to speak that word of truth that will challenge our opinions and call us to repent of those beliefs we hold so dear?
